Art has been Paul Goodnight’s saving grace.  It allowed Goodnight to communicate while he recovered from his inability to speak due to his traumatic experiences suffered during the Vietnam War.  He began to express himself through his art and subsequently regained his voice.

Goodnight has developed his own unique artistic style to document the humanity of people around the world. He often incorporates African themes and symbols to showcase the depths of history and culture that he observes.  He has studied and traveled extensively to different parts of the world to include Russia, China, Haiti, Nicaragua, Africa and Brazil.
