Collagist Evita Tezeno, a native of Port Arthur, Texas now resides in Dallas. Color, texture and shape are the focus of her collages. The inspired images are translated through mixed media, with various handmade papers, acrylic paints and found objects.
Evita is one of the most talented and versatile visual artists out there today, often being compared to Elizabeth Catlett and Romare Bearden with her collage, sculpture and woodcuts.
Evita has had her works selected to represent Daimler Chrysler, Deep Ellum Film Festival, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, and the official poster for the 1999 Essence Music Festival. Star Jones, Denise Rich and Mark and Capri McLemore have collected Evita’s work.
